The building we are located in used to smuggle in whiskey between 1926 and 1932, when they were busted by the prohibition agency of the federal government. The whiskey they brought in came from New Jersey on the train tracks just outside the warehouse. The O’neill brothers would then store the barrels inside and wait for the call from Capone. They would then load up their delivery trucks, drive to Joliet where they would meet one of Capone’s guys, along with a police officer. They would deliver the “product” to Capone, get paid, and repeat the process over and over. The brothers did this for over six years before they got caught.
